Family Take Away Night

Our first social event of the year was quite a success as many families turned up with take away food, pic-nic rugs and chairs. Everyone had a ball mingling with each other and it was such a relaxing night which provides opportunity to know other families.

Eric Carle, spiders butterflies and more

We love the many Eric Carle stories, especially learning about caterpillar to Butterfly life cycle through “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”

Great numeracy as we count the items the caterpillar has eaten and literacy as we read the items. “On Monday he ate through one apple”….”On Thursday he ate through four strawberries.”

Insects

After our excursion to the Gould League where we learnt all about insects and our environment we have extended this learning within the kindergarten program. The Echidna and Dolphin four year old groups have been busy.

Thankyou to Bronwyn for coordinating a great day, with a wonderful team of helpers. Also to the Bartholomeusz family for setting up a great place to meet Santa.

Our Family fun Day is to farewell leaving families and welcome new families. We have lots of fun with facepainting, a jumping castle and Santa comes too.

We enjoy many Eric Carle books such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider and The Bad Tempered Ladybug.

We wondered how he does his beautiful pictures. Shiona found a short video on youtube of Eric Carle painting his paper, drawing, cutting and preparing his collage pictures. So we did it too.
