Great numeracy as we count the items the caterpillar has eaten and literacy as we read the items. “On Monday he ate through one apple”….”On Thursday he ate through four strawberries.”

We create our own pictures about caterpillars and butterflies
We look at pictures of real butterflies, we notice that they are symmetrical.
We can even create Butterfly pictures in our own pretend Butterfly enclosure. Or use imaginative play with the insects and butterflies here.
Even the boys will join in with drawing.
